WHO AM I?

Greetings and Salutations! I'm Jo-el Benn. First of all I'd like to thank you for visiting me here at Sunlit Earth; and now I suppose I'll tell you a little bit about myself and what I do here.

     Born April 22, 1987 in Beaufort, South Carolina, I grew up on the sea-island of Saint Helena located near the coast of Beaufort County. I was the middle of 3 children in a loving 2 parent household. After graduating high school, I went on to college and got a bachelor of science degree in nursing; a profession I currently still maintain. My free time however, is filled with travel, writing, photography, and film.

   Currently I'm based in Columbia, SC where I work, and do the majority of my filming. but you never know where I might end up on a day free, as I like put in some serious footwork for my photography.

What am I doing here?

Over the years, I've dabbled in art in several different mediums (sketching, sculpting, digital art, photo/picture editing). It wasn't until I took up photography and film a few years ago, that I felt I was able to give people a genuine glimpse of how I see the world. All of a sudden, I can take friends, family and even total strangers with me on my travels, or unravel the universe in my head and take them on a front row tour of my imagination with my upcoming film projects. The purpose of Sunlit Earth is to serve as a hub for my work. The world we live in can be a dark, violent and terrible place, but I feel that because of that fact and reality, we tend to lose sight of just how absolutely gorgeous the Earth can be. With this hub for my work, I intend to show it.
